the perfect day!

yesterday was the perfect day.

first of all, i woke up early to shower and actually not be rushed for work, which was surprisingly nice despite the *cringe* 7am wake up, and a good start to the day. next on the list, no kids showed up for my 9oclock class, nice and easy.

then i almost skipped church to go shopping for a dress to wear later that night for our formal christmas banquet, but at the last moment i decided i didn't have the energy to shop and decided to go to church anyway and just hope someone would have something i could borrow within the next six hours. got to church, and one of the most well renowned speakers in america, Francis Chan, and author of one of my favorite books was the speaker - all the way over here in beijing (note: communist country)!! his book was the first christian novel I ever read (just six months ago), and it undoubtedly took part in changing my life. then after church i got to meet him! i was so nervous, but thanks to my friend basically forcing me to get over my giddiness i got to talk to him. how amazing.

then back at work we had a dress rehearsal for the kiddies, which went much better than i was anticipating - and obvi they were adorable. after work i rushed to the banquet and my friend saved me with a dress that i actually sort of fell in love with. stuffed myeslf with western food. then we went out for wine ---- and i had such a great time with everyone today. i've felt so much closer to them lately, and am so grateful for them. and for this AWESOME day.
